GD&T ai??i?? Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing ai??i?? Workshop
This course conducts an intensive study of the GD&T system based on the national standard ASME Y14.5M-1994.Ai?? It is intended for those involved in product engineering, manufacturing, or quality inspection.Ai?? The class begins with a review of traditional tolerancing methods, and then illustrates the benefits of geometric tolerancing.Ai?? Next we cover all the terminology and rules governing GD&T.Ai?? Each symbol is covered from the perspectives of the designer (how do I apply the correct GD&T?) as well as manufacturing and inspection (how can I check this callout with a CMM or traditional gage tools?).
Upon completion of this session participants will be able to :
- The concept of datums and proper datuming
- How to establish the correct datums
- How to interpret each of the fourteen GD&T controls
- Material modifiers symbols
- Profile and positional tolerance
Who Should Attend:
This course is recommended for Manufacturing, Design, Quality, Reliability, and Tooling engineers and technicians.
Duration . andFormat:
- 2 days
Participants are encouraged to bring sample prints to class to discuss with the instructor.Ai?? A non-credit pre-test and post-test will be given to help each participant gage his understanding of GD&T.
